Building Your Business by Writing a Book
August 17, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Online
It’s a challenge to get noticed and attract solid business. You’ve tried social media, but there are so many competing voices, plus the business world has turned a deaf ear to all the hype. Anyone can say anything, and that hurts everyone. You want to prove yourself as an expert in your field, increase your credibility, and attract a following—and that’s what writing a high-impact nonfiction book can do for you.
In this presentation, Nancy Erickson, The Book Professor®, will give solid guidance about how writing a book can draw attention to your expertise and attract the kind of clients you seek.

CABB 250 – Legal Aspects of Business Sales in California
August 18 – 19
Online
This 2-day, 7-hour course is designed for California business brokers at all experience levels. The purpose of this course is to examine a variety of aspects of small business transactions from a legal perspective and gain a better understanding of the way attorneys view transactions. By having a better understanding of the legal aspects and attorney viewpoints, brokers will be in a position to (a) foresee potential issues before they arise, (b) have more informed conversations with attorneys which may help them save transactions from “death by lawyer”, (c) be able to better represent their clients by identifying and addressing issues that may create unwanted legal liability, (d) preserve and protect their broker fees, and (e) avoid litigation and stay out of court.
