Nick Stock of Foster Swift Collins & Smith PC will outline the rules governing purchase price allocation in the sale of business assets. Nick will summarize the provisions governing allocation under the Internal Revenue Code, depreciation rules, amortization of intangibles under IRC 197, elections that may be available to the parties in the sale of a business and process requirements for availing such elections. Time permitting, Nick will highlight selected cases and examples applicable to sales of business and real estate. Takeaway materials may be provided, and questions are highly encouraged. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for open networking. Meeting begins at 9:30 and runs to noon with lunch included.
